JVCC Has Issued a Technical Paper

The Joint VAT Consultative Committee (JVCC) has issued a technical paper to give businesses, advisers, and representative bodies an overview of the results of the consultation which finished on 18 May 2007. It is available on the HMRC website.

Enroll for the New VAT Online Service

You can enrol for the new VAT Online Service which allows you to submit a Reverse Charge Sales List (RCSL) if you are trading in mobile telephones and computer chips.

Update of VAT Notices

• VAT Notice 700/21 on keeping records and accounts has been updated. This update replaces paragraph 5.4.
• VAT Notice 723, which deals with refunds of VAT in the EC for EC and non-EC businesses has been updated. This update has been issued to provide a new address for the Overseas Repayment Unit in the UK.
• VAT Notice on Motoring Expenses has been revised. This notice cancels and replaces Notice 700/64 (August 2006).
• VAT Notice 700/44 on barristers and advocates has been revised. This notice now includes details on how members of chambers deal with input tax on shared expenses.
