At the recent ECOFIN meeting, the following tax issues were discussed: fight against VAT fraud, good governance in the tax area and taxation of savings.

The principle of good governance in the tax area deals with principles of transparency, exchange of information and fair tax competition when the Community and its Member States conclude agreements with third countries.
