As part of its Sector Review work to ensure operational consistency, Revenue are examining the employment/self employment status of doctors working in “out of hours agencies” and in GP practices which are not their own.

The examination is to ensure that the correct employment status is being applied to these doctors. Revenue will focus on establishing if an employment exists and if PAYE should be applied on payments made to these doctors.
