Freedom of Information
The Department of Finance has published the Tenth Report on the Freedom of Information Act, covering the year 2007. The report reviews FOI developments in 2007 and gives detailed statistics about usage of the Act during that year. In 2007, the Appeal Commissioners received two FOI requests and the Revenue Commissioners received 117.
In relation to the Appeal Commissioners, the two requests were non-personal from Business/Interest Groups.
The Revenue Commissioners’ requests were categorised as 67 personal and 50 non-personal. Twelve were from Journalists, 36 from Business/Interest Groups, 16 from Staff, 47 from Clients and 6 from Others.
