Pay and File 2009

The filing deadline date for submission of the paper version of the 2008 Income Tax return is 31 October 2009. Revenue announced in eBrief 49/09 that, as this date falls on a Saturday, certain arrangements will be put in place.

Over the course of the weekend of 31 October, Income Tax returns together with the appropriate tax payments may be dropped into the post boxes in Sarsfield House, Francis Street, Limerick. All returns received by 9.00 am Monday 2nd November, will be deemed to have satisfied the return filing deadline. Revenue advises that there will be no facility to acknowledge receipt of deliveries. Customised receipts will issue to all taxpayers for whom payment was processed.

For taxpayers using the Revenue On-Line Services (ROS) to file their 2008 Income Tax return and make payment of the appropriate tax due, the deadline is extended. The extended ROS pay and file deadline is midnight Monday 16 November as per Revenue eBriefs; 16/09 and 50/09.

EBrief 49/09 which states that “Customers using Revenue On-line Service to both file and pay have until midnight 17th November 2009” is misleading, and has been clarified per eBrief 50/09.
