The latest edition of ‘Spotlights’, as published by HMRC, features avoidance involving Stamp Duty Land Tax. HMRC have stated that they do not accept that contrived arrangements to avoid or reduce this tax have the intended effect and will challenge these schemes and litigate where necessary.
