College Grants – Requirement for a PAYE Balancing Statement P21
Taxpayers applying for a college grant for the upcoming academic year are advised that the quickest way to get a PAYE Balancing Statement P21 is online through Revenue's PAYE anytime service. Applicants may require a 2011 P21 as proof of earnings for the relevant grant awarding authority.
Revenue advises that it is essential that applications for a P21 are made in good time and that it is indicated that the P21 is required urgently for the purposes of a grant etc. Taxpayers registered on PAYE Anytime can apply for a P21 via the service and can opt to receive the P21 online within 3 to 4 days or by post within 4 to 5 working days. A P21 can also be requested from Revenue in writing, by phone or by calling into a local office. However, it is likely to take longer than applying via PAYE Anytime.
Further information on PAYE Anytime and applying for a P21 is available from the Revenue website.
