A number of Member Firms have reported that the ROS Form 46G will not accept “old – style” VAT registration numbers. These numbers have a letter within the sequence of digits, and this seems to be giving rise to the difficulty. Revenue has advised that where this problem is encountered, the VAT registration number field may be left blank, provided that the full name and address is supplied. We will also be discussing with Revenue, at a meeting of the TALC Collection forum this month, members’ concerns regarding completing the ROS Form 46G where there are a number of entries and the inability to upload details from an excel record.
