Email Scam Warning
Readers are advised to be vigilant of fraudulent emails purporting to come from Revenue seeking personal information from taxpayers in connection with a tax refund. These phishing emails are headed ‘Important Message - Tax Refund’ and did not issue from Revenue.
Members are reminded that Revenue never sends emails requiring customers to send personal information via email or pop-up windows. If you receive an email purporting to be from Revenue and you suspect it to be fraudulent or a scam the advice is to just delete it. If a tax refund is due to issue the advice is to contact the relevant local Revenue Office to check its status.
