Maltese Presidency sets out roadmap for future BEPS work
Following discussions by ECOFIN’s High Level Working Party on Tax Issues last month, the Maltese Presidency issued proposals to progress work on the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) initiative at EU level over the coming months.
The draft EU-BEPS roadmap issued by the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union identifies numerous BEPS related matters that are a priority. Measures include proposals to restrict hybrid mismatches involving third countries, proposals for improvement of the dispute resolution mechanism within the EU, agreeing an EU list of third country non-cooperative jurisdictions and the relaunched Common (Consolidated) Corporate Tax Base initiative.
