Access to My Enquiries for Solicitors
Solicitors who wish to contact the Revenue Technical Service on behalf of their clients where the solicitor is not the tax agent can now access the MyEnquiries service. In order to access the MyEnquiries service, the solicitor must apply in writing to the Dublin North City Revenue District for a Tax Advisory Identification Number (TAIN).
In order to submit a technical query, the acquired TAIN should be linked to the solicitor’s tax reference number and not the taxpayers. This prevents the displacement of the client’s tax agent. Revenue guidance has been updated to reflect this change and eBrief No. 16/2017 contains further details.
