Review of corporation tax code – Public consultation launched
It was announced on Budget Day that Economist Seamus Coffey will carry out a review of Ireland’s corporation tax code. The Department of Finance has launched a public consultation inviting submissions. The consultation will close on 4 April 2017.
The consultation is seeking insights on what additional legislative matters Ireland should implement (if any) in the following areas:
- Measures to achieve the highest international standards in tax transparency
- The implementation of the OECD’s BEPS recommendations
- Measures to deliver tax certainty for business and maintain the competitiveness of Ireland’s corporation tax offering
Respondents are also asked to comment on the sustainability of Ireland’s corporation tax receipts in the short to medium term.
The consultation can be found on the Department of Finance website. The Institute will make a submission and welcomes input from members.
