CCAB-I responds to public consultation on taxation of landlords
Chartered Accountants Ireland, under the auspices of the CCAB-I made a submission in response to a public consultation on the taxation of landlords. The key message of the submission is that in order to address the housing crisis, there is a need to reduce the income and capital gains tax burden on landlords.
The submission put forward suggestions for some alterations to the tax system to incentivise landlords to remain in or to enter the residential accommodation market. The introduction of a roll over relief and a reduction in the rate of capital gains tax, along with measures to reduce income tax liabilities for landlords were some of the measures included. You can read our submission on here and on our website.
