Temporary changes to the PAYE for employers agent code service
HMRC have asked us to share details of the temporary removal of the new PAYE for employers agent codes service.
“Message from HMRC
I am writing to let you know about some temporary changes to the PAYE for employers agent code service.
As you know, we regularly carry out service changes in order to complete routine maintenance, as well as make more specific improvements.
We usually make our changes without customers noticing or during weekends, when there’s less use; however, in some cases, our services need to be offline for longer periods depending on the nature of the work.
I wanted to inform you that the system used by agents who want to obtain new PAYE for employers agent codes, will need to be taken offline temporarily in order to bring the service up to an improved standard.
Whilst this happens, the service to obtain new codes online will switch to a manual process during the quieter Summer months. This is so we can have an updated system ready in the autumn, well ahead of its peak use in Spring 2018.
We do not expect there to be much inconvenience for agents and ask for patience while we conduct these necessary changes. We are sorry for any inconvenience the work my cause.”
