The Tax Strategy Group (TSG) papers, prepared in advance of Budget 2018 and Finance Act 2017 set out the various options for Budget 2018 and cover a range of tax and social protection issues as well as an update on a joint research programme between the Department of Finance and the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) on The Macroeconomy and Taxation.

The TSG is an interdepartmental committee chaired by the Department of Finance, with membership comprising senior officials and advisors from the Departments of Finance, Taoiseach, Enterprise Trade and Employment, Social Community and Family Affairs and the Revenue Commissioners.
