Changes to how agents access HMRC’s online systems

The Government Gateway (GG) Transformation Programme extended the GG switch over date back from 11 January 2019 to 4 February 2019. An email below was sent to Agents who registered with HMRC that they are using background logins.

“Agent automated login

Dear Colleague,

As you’ll be aware HMRC is currently replacing Government Gateway with a new platform that is more secure, has additional functionality, and is fit for the future.

Part of the migration means access for agents who currently use their own systems to run background logins to log in to HMRC systems in an automated way will change.

Following feedback from the Agent community we have extended the deadline for you to make changes to your automated login systems from 11 January 2019 to 4 February 2019.

The revised 4 February deadline represents the latest possible date we can use without impacting the migration of the Government Gateway platform.
