You might want to familiarise yourself with the new eRegistration VAT screens which reflect the new Two Tier VAT Registration system. Full functionality of this new system, which is expected to accelerate the processing of applications for VAT registration is expected in the new year.

Revenue confirmed at a meeting of TALC Indirect committee earlier this month that the benefit to taxpayers of an accelerated processing time of applications will be part of the system from next year. From 1 January 2020 we expect that domestic VAT registrations will be processed within one to two working days. Intra-EU VAT registrations should also be dealt with more efficiently.
