ICAI has been in touch with Revenue to establish the status of ROS following outages.

During the week ending 21 October, ICAI notified Revenue of member's concerns following reports of apparent ROS service disruption. This led to the publication of an e-Brief by Revenue on 21 October indicating the scope and scale of service disruption. The difficulties which arose were apparently the result of scheduled work on other Revenue computer systems, in particular the PAYE system.

We have since been in correspondence with Revenue on behalf of members seeking assurances that ROS will operate uninterrupted at this critical filing time. Revenue senior management have responded in writing to state to confirm that “our PAYE roll-out is progressing smoothly and that the few ROS processes affected are now back to normal. We are confident that there will be an uninterrupted online service between now and 17th November 2005.”
