Ireland in sixth place for ease of paying taxes
In the annual PwC/World Bank report, which facilitates the direct comparison of tax systems in 178 countries worldwide, and ranks each country according to the relative ease of paying taxes, Ireland is ranked as the sixth easiest country in which to pay taxes.
The Maldives is the jurisdiction where it is easiest to pay taxes, whereas Belarus ranks as the most difficult country. The report highlights how businesses are affected not only by corporate income taxes, but also by many other taxes.
The report focuses on three indicators: the number of tax payments made, the time it takes to comply, and the cost of taxes, in order to determine the overall ease of paying taxes.
