Inter Agency Direct Tax Conference
The joint Irish Revenue/HMRC conference, held in Dublin Castle on 22 and 23 November, focused on sharing experiences to identify and explore ways of working together to achieve respective goals. As an all-island body, ICAI is continuously lobbying both Revenue Authorities for simplification in tax procedures for cross-border business.
According to the Chairman of the Revenue Commissioners, Mr Frank Daly, the purpose of the conference was to share experiences, to see how the two Revenue Authorities can streamline information exchange and learn from each other. He expressed the hope that the outcome would be closer working and a stronger response to tax evasion.
