EU: Financial and Insurance Services

The European Commission has published a background paper ‘‘Financial and insurance services’’ which had been requested by the Council Presidency. The purpose of the paper is to provide information on the reasoning underlying the Commission's proposals on the VAT treatment of financial and insurance services and to enhance access to information about Commission's thinking in this area.
