PRSI: Claim Refund

The updated form for claiming a refund of PRSI in respect of pension contributions is available on the Revenue website.

It should be noted that only employed persons can claim such refund. An anomaly in the legislation prevents self-employed persons from making such a refund claim. ICAI has made representations to the Department of Finance on this anomaly.

This application form should be used to request a PRSI refund where you have made a contribution to:

  • a PRSA (Personal Retirement Savings Account)
  • a RAC (Retirement Annuity Contract)
  • an AVC (Additional Voluntary Contribution by an employee to an occupational pension scheme)

and

where PRSI relief has not already been granted by your employer through the payroll.

Form CGPRSI1 is available at http://www.revenue.ie/forms/cgprsi1.pdf.
