HMRC have provided information for Accountancy Service Providers who have failed to apply for Money Laundering Regulations Registration. HMRC have advised that such persons are trading illegally if they missed the deadline of 1 January 2009 and may be liable to a penalty or criminal prosecution.

HMRC have stated that ASPs should send the completed application form and appropriate fee to HMRC without further delay.
