Agent Account Managers

HMRC has recently set up a UK-wide team of Agent Account Managers (AAMs) to help tax agents and advisers deal with the department more effectively. A detailed guide is now available which explains what AAMs do, what services they provide, and how to contact them.

We understand that the AAM team will provide the following services for tax agents and advisers:

  • A streamlined process to resolve ongoing problems more quickly-called the Agents’ Issue Resolution Service
  • Invitations to HMRC educational events
  • Advance notice of HMRC educational products

Before an agent can make use of the services provided by the AAM team, it is necessary to register using an online form-the User Registration form. Once HMRC receive the completed form, an automatic acknowledgement will be issued to the nominated email address provided at registration. This will then be followed up by a member of the AAM team who will make contact within three working days to assist with any further information needed.

To use the Agents’ Issue Resolution Service, it is necessary to complete an online form each time AAM assistance is required. This will also result in an automatic email acknowledgement including a reference number specific to the query concerned. A member of the AAM team will then be in touch within three working days to progress.
