G20 Call for Further Advances in Automatic Exchange of Information
The G20 says that more needs to be done to address the issues of international tax avoidance and evasion, in particular through tax havens, as well as non-cooperative jurisdictions. It also called for all jurisdictions to sign or express interest in signing the OECD's Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters.
The Communiqué from the G20 which include four EU Member States (the UK, France, Germany and Italy), indicated that automatic exchange of information is expected to be the global standard and it urged all jurisdictions to move towards exchanging information automatically with their treaty partners.
For full details of the Communiqué are available on the G20 website.
