BEPS Action Plan Ready for G20 Finance Ministers Meeting in July 2013
The OECD has confirmed that the Action Plan on its initiative for tackling aggressive tax planning, known as Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), will be ready for delivery to the Moscow meeting of G20 Finance Ministers in July 2013.
As reported previously, the OECD issued a report on how international cooperation can be strengthened in the field of corporation tax to counter aggressive tax planning in February 2013. According to the OECD, the main purpose of the Action Plan is to provide countries with instruments, domestic and international, aimed at better aligning rights to tax with real economic activity. The Action Plan will also consider the best way to implement in a timely fashion the measures government can agree on.
