Information Guide on the Employment and Investment Incentive (EII) and Seed Capital Scheme
Revenue published a general information guide to the EII, aimed primarily at investors wishing to avail of this tax relief incentive scheme for investment in corporate trades. The guide may also be of benefit for small businesses wishing to raise investments under the scheme. Details on the scheme and how to go about making a claim together with the key contacts in the relevant State agencies are contained in the guide. This information is helpful, but as we point out in our pre-Budget submission (see above), it will take more than just information to make the EII scheme a success.
Revenue also published guidance on the operation of the Seed Capital Scheme. The scheme provides tax relief for investments in a new company by way of a refund of tax already paid by an individual. The conditions of the relief, the amount of the tax refund available, how to claim relief under the scheme and the necessary forms are set out in the guidance.
Both guidance documents are available on the Revenue website.
