Communicating with Revenue via Email
At a meeting of the Main TALC committee in July Revenue clarified that while they are obliged to communicate externally via secure emails, taxpayers and agents are not obliged to contact Revenue using this type of email platform.
While secure email is Revenue's preferred method, taxpayers and agents may contact Revenue using their standard email systems. Reports suggest that certain District are requiring taxpayers and agents to communicate with them via secure email only and there is refusal to accept correspondence by any other means. Revenue agreed to clarify the correct position with each District. Further information on secure email is available on Revenue's website.
