HMRC Complete Annual Toolkit Refresh
HMRC completed their annual toolkit ‘refresh’ by bringing their suite of toolkits up to date for 2013–14 and adding new risks in some cases.
Examples of some new risks included in this year's toolkits are:
- Capital Gains Tax for Shares Toolkit - two new risks have been added to address unattached computations and re-investment relief for gains invested under the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme.
- Capital Allowances for Plant and Machinery toolkit - a new risk has been added in respect of the new rules on acquisitions and disposals of property with fixtures that are plant and machinery.
HMRC has also published the updated VAT Partial Exemption, VAT Input and VAT Output toolkits.
Whilst it should be stressed that the refreshed toolkits are optional and not compulsory, their use is considered by HMRC to provide evidence of good working practice and reasonable care.
Feedback is requested on the toolkits which will be used to help develop and prioritise future changes and improvements.
