Meeting of the OECD Task Force on Tax and Development
The OECD’s Task Force on Tax and Development met in Seoul, Korea last month. The Task Force, which comprises of Governments, international and regional organisations, civil society and business representatives, reviewed matters such as the BEPS initiative, progress on exchange of tax information on an automatic basis, and the “Tax Inspectors Without Borders” initiative.
Tax Inspectors Without Borders’ (TIWB), is a cross-border initiative to deploy the transfer of tax audit knowledge and skills for complex international cases in developing countries. The initiative is in its first phase of deployments in Colombia, Ghana, Rwanda, and Zambia and a report on the first phase will issue by mid-2014.
