Tax credits recipients in Belfast are being asked to check their childcare costs as HMRC launches a new campaign to reduce tax credits error and fraud.

In a press release, HMRC advised it is looking into the claims of 15,000 individuals in Belfast who are claiming these costs, and that the individual must let HMRC know immediately if these change in order to avoid a tax credit overpayment, penalty or a possible criminal prosecution. HMRC must be notified of changes in these costs by £10 or more.
