Local Property Tax Payments by Single Direct Debit

Revenue issued a notice for property owners who made their 2014 LPT payment by Single Direct Debit Authority advising that in respect of certain cases it was not possible to debit the relevant bank account due to technical issues identified by banks. Revenue has contacted those property owners affected and the advice is to make alternative arrangements to pay the property tax either by selecting an alternative bank account or making a payment by debit or credit card. Revenue’s notice reads as follows:

  • “In excess of 300,000 customers selected the single debit authority (SDA) or once off debit to pay their property tax on the due date of Friday 21 March 2014
  • Revenue is aware that in respect of certain customers it was not possible to debit the customer’s bank account due to technical issues identified by banks. In many instances these technical issues related to incorrect account numbers.
  • Revenue has written to customers advising them that the debit has not gone through as expected. Revenue is advising such customers to make alternative arrangements to pay the property tax either by going on revenue.ie using their Property ID/PPSN and PIN and selecting an alternative bank account or making a payment by debit or credit card. Alternatively customers can make a payment quoting their Property ID or PPSN through An Post, Payzone or Omnivend outlets who will accept cash payments”.
