Do you act for High Net Worth clients?
The Institute continues to engage directly with HMRC’s High Net Worth Unit (HNWU) on behalf of members. Recent contact points include a conference call with the new head of the Unit and senior members of the HNWU team to discuss NI specific matters.
In addition, a member of the NI Tax Committee attends meetings of the High Net Worth forum in London. In the near future, a senior member of the HNWU team from Kilbride which deals with N taxpayers is due to meet with the NI Tax Committee. On the agenda will once again be NI specific matters.
The most recent HNWU Forum minutes are now available for public consumption. These cover such diverse topics as the General Anti Abuse Rule and Accelerated Payment Notices, in addition to developments in the HNWU & Digital Transformation. Members with an interest in this area who wish to raise a particular matter with HMRC in relation to HNWU clients are asked to contact Leontia Doran.
