A new Mission Statement for HMRC and revised strategic objectives, along with the Department’s Single Departmental Plan was published recently. The Mission Statement is intended to outline very simply what HMRC is. It replaces the previous Purpose, Vision and Way statement.

The current strategic objectives, set by the government, have also been revised to align more closely with the Mission Statement and to better reflect the transformation of HMRC. The publication of the new Mission Statement and revised objectives come as all government departments publish their Single Departmental Plans.

HMRC’s Single Departmental Plan sets out key information about the department, key commitments over the next Spending Review period, and plans to meet these. Queries on the new Mission Statement can be emailed to communications.corporate@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk
