Electronic Tax Clearance system managed by Collector General

If you have any queries on the electronic Tax Clearance (eTC) system or are having any difficulties with the system you should contact the Collector General’s office. Since 1 April 2016, the Collector General has taken over responsibility for the eTC system.

The eTC system opened last December and since 1 January 2016, all new applications for tax clearance are through this system. You can access the system via MyAccount or Revenue Online Service (ROS).

If you have query on the eTC system or difficulties with your tax clearance application(s) you should now contact the Collector General’s office. Contact details are set out in Revenue eBrief No. 34/16 which you can read here.

There are exceptions for applying using the eTC system:

  1. non-resident applicants who have no tax registration number in this State;
  2. non e-enabled applicants;
  3. non-registered voluntary bodies e.g. tidy towns committees.

If you fall within one of the three exceptions, you can apply for tax clearance by completing a TC1 form and sending it to the Collector General’s office.
