Following on from the publication of the HMRC Agent Standard in February’s Agent Update, HMRC has now created a dedicated page for the standards on GOV.UK. Members will note that the standards referred to do not add anything to the existing standards expected of members of this Institute, details of which can be found on the CARB website.

The standard is supposedly aimed at agents not already covered by professional body standards. Detail is scant and there is also no indication of what action HMRC might take if it identifies a breach.
