HMRC recently announced a new approach to tax repayments. The new approach, according to HMRC, is designed to be faster and easier. Taxpayers can now opt to get their money back direct from HMRC through their digital Personal Tax Account.

As stated in the accompanying press release, this new service puts taxpayers in control of their tax affairs, allowing them to claim any money owed to them immediately, with funds cleared in their account within three to five working days. To register, go to the GOV.UK sign-in page.
