Guidance on NI corporation tax regime
Draft guidance on the operation of the Northern Ireland Corporation Tax legislation has been published by HMRC. Assuming the legislation is “switched on”, it is intended to take effect just under 18 months away on 1 April 2018 with a 12.5% rate from commencement. Comments are requested by 7 January 2017.
As advised in previous Chartered Accountants Tax News updates, the government will commence the Act and devolution of the power will be completed once the Northern Ireland Executive demonstrates its finances are on a sustainable footing. The Northern Ireland Executive has committed to setting a rate of 12.5% in April 2018.
