A UK tour
UK Prime Minister Theresa May carried out a tour of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on 29 March which also marked a year to the day before the UK leaves the EU. Visiting a dairy farm in Bangor, in Northern Ireland, Ms May heard the concerns of those within the agricultural industry and the importance of keeping the border free flowing on the island of Ireland. The UK Prime Minister said that her government was committed to avoiding a hard border and also said that Brexit could represent an opportunity for agriculture to thrive outside of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy.
