Personal Public Service Number
Revenue’s Personal Public Service (PPS) number records must align with those of the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP).
Revenue’s Tax and Duty Manual Part 37-00-07b notes that any changes to an individual’s public service identity data, for example a change of name, should first be updated on the DEASP records, and can then be updated on Revenue’s records.
The manual also covers how to obtain a PPS number, registering for tax, the “W” format PPS numbers, name changes and gender recognition.
