New consultations launched
A number of consultations have been recently launched.
As announced on Budget day, HMRC has now published a call for evidence on raising standards in the tax advice market. The call for evidence contains important considerations and includes questions on:
- the market for tax advice and tax services;
- the characteristics of good and bad agents;
- the impact of current government interventions;
- international comparisons;
- consumer protection; and
- possible approaches to raising standards
The following consultations were also recently opened:-
- Notification of uncertain tax treatment by large businesses
- Consultation on the taxation impacts arising from the withdrawal of LIBOR
- Freeports consultation
- Tackling Construction Industry Scheme abuse
- Preventing abuse of the R&D tax relief for SMEs: second consultation
- Overseas funds regime: a consultation
