Further rounds of Brexit negotiations scheduled as “little progress” is made in key areas of negotiation

A restricted round of Brexit negotiations has concluded. The talks took place in Brussels, starting 29 June – 3 July, and is the first of the face-to-face negotiations between the two chief negotiators since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The full agenda of the discussions can be viewed on the European Commission’s website, where the focus was on a range of issues including competition regulations, including environmental and state aid rules.

The chief negotiators and their teams will then meet again for more specialised sessions, this time in London, starting on 6 July 2020. Similar meetings will be held in the weeks commencing 13 July (Brussels); 20 July (London); 27 July (London) and, finally, in the week of 17 August in Brussels.
