Revenue has increased the number of taxes and duties that can be repaid electronically to now also include income tax and PAYE as well as certain other taxes. This facility can be accessed by inputting the taxpayer's bank details using the redesigned My Services or Agent Services screens on Revenue Online Service (ROS).

Revenue advises in eBrief No. 61/12 that insofar as repayment processing is concerned, priority will now be given to eRepayment as the preferred method for all repayment claims. However, we understand from discussions with Revenue at the TALC Collection forum that electronic repayments are not mandatory and taxpayers may continue to receive cheque refunds as appropriate.
