eRegistration Services

Taxpayers and agents are reminded in Revenue's eBrief No. 59/12 that the ROS eRegistration facility enables agents and customers to complete a range of tax registration transactions online.

The ROS eRegistration services now also include a facility for agent to register a client for the following business taxes:

As we reported in tax.point earlier this year, a number of new features were introduced to the eRegistration system and among these included re-registering business taxes and cancelling a tax registration. Revenue states in eBrief No. 59/12 that the increased functionality of the system now represents a comprehensive alternative to the paper-based registration application/cancellation/agent link process.

While there are a number of specific circumstances where a paper application will continue to be required such as for non-resident companies and non-resident individuals, the majority of registration transactions can now be processed online. Revenue advises in eBrief No. 59/12 that all paper applications received for business tax registrations which can now be processed online are currently being returned. Instead Revenue requests that agents submit their registration applications online.
