Revenue Online Service (ROS): Errors on the Self-assessment Panel
Members’ reports to us of errors on the ROS Self-Assessment panel when uploading 2013 Form 11 Income Tax Returns was brought to Revenue’s attention under the TALC Collection forum. Revenue advised that there was an issue with some third party software which resulted in the self-assessment panel being left blank on returns which consequently resulted in an error message. According to Revenue, this issue is now resolved, however, you are advised to ensure that third party software is updated to reflect this repair.
Revenue advised that ROS will not accept returns that do not have the correct values in Column A of the self-assessment panel, i.e. Revenue’s indicative calculation of liability.
Where a third party package has not been updated to reflect the repair the return produced by that third party software cannot be filed. Revenue’s advice is to open the return using the ROS off-line application; once a return is opened in ROS offline, column A is automatically populated with Revenue’s figures.
