Agreement on automatic exchange of information on tax rulings
Last week saw unanimous agreement reached by Member States on the automatic exchange of information on cross-border tax rulings.
As a result, Member States will now be required to automatically exchange information on their tax rulings and remove Member States discretion to decide on what information is shared, to whom and when. Such rulings are required to be exchanged every six months with Member States being able to ask for more detailed information on a particular ruling. The Commission will monitor the implementation of this directive and ensure that Member States are complying with their responsibilities.
Further information can be found on the Commission’s website.
